A Service Dog for Jordan fundraising campaign A Service Dog for Jordan Hi my name is Jordan Franz. I developed epilepsy when I was 8 years old and had my first Grand Mal seizure and was in the hospital for about 2 months due to complications. I had to learn to walk, eat and talk again. Later I was diagnosed with Complex Partial epilepsy when I hit puberty. My seizures manifest as confusion with me repeating the same word repeatedly. Usually it is the words, “I know”. Afterwards I’m very confused and tired. It takes me a while to get my bearings. I would like to go to Springfield College this fall to study in Health Sciences. Spending so much of my childhood in hospitals has made me want to pursue something in the medical field. I’m excited about the college experience, but I am nervous about living on campus alone with no one there who knows what my seizures look like and how to take care of me when I am seizing. My biggest fear is that I will start to feel a seizure coming in class. Having a service dog will help to keep me safe and in place when I have a seizure and give me the tools to take more steps toward my own independence. I hope you will consider a donation to help me continue in the next stage of my life journey! Donors 1130.00 USD Erin Orga 250.00 USD State Representative Joseph F.
